Linkar Suite 2.3.8

To manually start Linkar SERVER rather than starting from Linkar MANAGER, use the LinkarManagerControl command from the Operating System command-line.

This command can start and stop the both services (Linkar MANAGER service and Linkar SERVER service), and launch the Linkar MANAGER interface to the default browser.

Syntax: LinkarManagerControl [ /STARTLKMANAGER | /STOPLKMANAGER | /RESTARTLKMANAGER |

                                  /STARTLKSERVER | /STOPLKSERVER | /RESTARTLKSERVER |

                                  /OPENBROWSER | /HELP ]

        /STARTLKMANAGER: Start Linkar Manager Service

        /STOPLKMANAGER: Stop Linkar Manager Service.

        /RESTARTLKMANAGER: Restart Linkar Manager Service

        /STARTLKSERVER: Start Linkar Server Service.

        /STOPLKSERVER: Stop Linkar Server Service.

        /RESTARTLKSERVER: Restart Linkar Server Service.

        /OPENBROWSER:Open the default browser with the configured Linkar Manager "url". Also,

                  if Linkar Manager Service is not started, it will be start it before opening the browser

        /HELP: Show this help.

Linkar defaults to these OS-level commands to start and stop services.

Windows:

• net start LinkarServerService

• net stop LinkarServerService

• net start LinkarManagerService

• net stop LinkarManagerService

Linux:

•systemctl start LinkarServer.service

•systemctl stop LinkarServer.service

•systemctl start LinkarManager.service

•systemctl stop LinkarManager.service

macOS

•launchctl load /Library/LaunchDaemons/LinkarServer.plist

•launchctl unload /Library/LaunchDaemons/LinkarServer.plist

•launchctl load /Library/LaunchDaemons/LinkarManager.plist

•launchctl unload /Library/LaunchDaemons/LinkarManager.plist

In some environments the defaults will not be ideal. For this reason override commands to toggle services can be set in the CustomServiceCommands.xml file.

The installation of LinkarSuite configures the system so that LinkarManager and LinkarServer start as services in the different operating systems. This is the recommended mode. But if it is necessary, LinkarManager and LinkarServer can be executed as independent processes launched from a console. To do this, both services must be stopped. Otherwise, there will be a conflict between the services and the processes, since both use the same configuration.

Running LinkarManager and LinkarServer as processes:

LinkarManager:

 From the folder where LinkarSuite is installed:

 Windows:

LinkarManager.exe --console

 Linux/Mac:

./LinkarManager --console

LinkarServer:

 From the folder where LinkarSuite is installed:

 Windows:

         LinkarServerConsole.exe

 Linux/Mac:

         ./LinkarServerConsole

All versions of LinkarManager and LinkarServer (services and processes on all operating systems) include the argument "--ip=value" where "value" is the hostname or IP address to be used instead of the one loaded from the Config.xml configuration file.
