This is the Linkar commercial licence. It can be purchased on the Kosday website or by email.
Some details are required to register a licence. See Linkar MANAGER > Configuration > Activation.
This registered licence count is the total possible number of connected sessions. One connected session consumes one database line/port. "Connected" is not necessarily "active". A connected session is logged-in and occupies a DBMS licence as it awaits inbound connections and momentary activations. As an example, there may be 10 licences, 8 connected and consumed over a period of time, though only 3 might be active at a given moment.
A Profile defines a DBMS server, and an EntryPoint defines a connection to an account on that server. Minimum and maximum session counts are configured for each EntryPoint. The more connected Database Sessions an EntryPoint has, the greater its capacity to process concurrent operations. This is one way to improve Linkar SERVER performance and respond faster to Linkar Clients.
Licences are not reserved for a specific EntryPoint or Profile. Session requirements are defined in an EntryPoint. An unlimited number of sessions can be defined across EntryPoints. Licences are only consumed when those sessions are actually connected. And registered licences can be freely reallocated across any number of MVDBMS servers and accounts. As an example, with 10 licences, all 10 might be in use on a D3 server now, but sometime later 5 might be used on UniVerse and 5 on QM. In total there are 20 sessions defined in the three Profiles discussed here (one for each DBMS). But with 10 licences, only 10 of those 20 can be connected at any given time.
The PRO Licence can be updated with new versions during the life of the subscription.
